2019 Annual Report

Hope Over Fear

Welcome to our first ever Beautiful Day Annual Report webpage! Our plan is to publish this page in three weekly installments. We hope you will enjoy scrolling down through the facts, figures and pictures; then come back next week to do it again. That way we can savor all we accomplished together in 2019. We didn’t do this alone—we did it with you.

It was a year worth celebrating. We started a new Refugee Youth Program. We produced and sold over 9 tons of granola. We connected with many many thousands to share a message of welcome and solidarity with refugees.

We chose “Hope over Fear” as our theme for this report, not because we foresaw looking back on 2019 over the top of face masks. But fear has always been the force behind human displacement. And it’s the reason so many are callous to the plight of refugees.

But today—and every day—is a beautiful day to NOT be afraid. We think part of the solution involves appreciating and celebrating peoples’s differences, and honoring the dignity of work, and living generously. And we hope to keep learning along with you how to do keep doing this through the present crisis.

Thank you again for going on this journey with us.
